VKiDS

Partnering with parents to equip all generations to continually take one step closer to Christ.

What to Expect

VKiDS is a ministry for children from birth through 5th grade. The VKiDS team is dedicated to equipping the next generation to take one step closer to Christ by providing weekly age appropriate Bible-based lessons, worship, and activities for children who are in our care.

Safety - Your child’s safety is of the highest concern to us. We make all decisions with their security in mind. All of our staff and volunteers are put through a complete training and screening process, including a nationwide background check. We use name badges for all of our volunteers, name tags with randomly generated parent pick up tags for our children, and we schedule volunteers with safe ratios in mind.

Partnership - We believe that the best ministry is provided when our VKiDS Team works together with parents. This partnership allows our team to get to know families on a deeper level, and it gives parents the ability to reinforce lessons that are taught each week.

VKIDS IS A FUN AND EXCITING PLACE WHERE LEADERS ARE DEVELOPED AND KIDS ARE TAUGHT THE WORD OF GOD.

We have different phases of development broken down by age.

ELEMENTARY

1st - 5th Grades

Our desire is to create exciting programs that help elementary students learn more about the Bible, its principles, and its place in kids lives today

We also work to teach children to learn from the Bible by themselves

Throughout the year, we give children the opportunity to share their knowledge of the Bible with others through outreach and follow up activities.

We place a priority on preparing children for their future in youth and adult experiences, by providing volunteer opportunities and being a part of small groups.

We design our weekly services to help children learn to be attentive, to participate, and to have respect for authority and others, all in a fun atmosphere.

We strive to provide a consistent format that will allow children to learn, to mature, and to make friends from among their peers.

VKiDS strive to LIVE, MOVE, and BE in the fullness of CHRIST!

Parents

Partnership With Parents

We believe that the best ministry is provided when our kids team works together with parents.  This gives parents the ability to reinforce the lessons that are taught and to supply valuable insight into our Worship Experiences.

Child Dedications

Why dedicate my child?

“Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.”
Psalm 127:3 NLT

We wholeheartedly agree! Several times per year, Victory partners with parents in dedicating their children to the Lord. This is accomplished by parents bringing their children before the Victory Church body and committing to rear them in a godly fashion with the help of the church. The dedication of a child is not only about the child; it is a blessing over the entire family unit. The ceremony represents the family’s dedication to raise the child in obedience to the Lord, and the Church’s opportunity to spiritually support the parents in bringing up the child.

What is Child Dedication?

To dedicate means you are choosing to devote time and effort to a particular task or purpose. A child dedication symbolizes your commitment to devote yourself to raising your child unto the Lord. 1 Samuel provides such an example. Hannah asked the Lord to bless her with a child and promised to raise the child, Samuel, with a love for the things of the Lord (1 Samuel 1:11). When Jesus was born, we see Mary and Joseph dedicating him to the Lord in the Temple (Luke 2:22). In both of these passages, the parents entrusted their child completely to God. Dedicating your child to the Lord means you are committing to give your child to the Lord all the days of his or her life. Child dedication is a commitment each parent makes to live a lifestyle that raises their child in the values of Christ, apart from the values of humanity.

Because Victory Church believes in the power of this commitment, we ask the parents to sign this Pledge prior to attending the dedication.

WHY DO WE HAVE DEDICATIONS
FOR CHILDREN INSTEAD OF BAPTISMS?

Baptism is a public testimony of a personal belief that Jesus is the risen Savior and confession that He is Lord over your life. Baptism is a personal and powerful commitment. Young children under the age of accountability are unable to declare this change. This is why we give our families the opportunity to dedicate their children.

WHAT KIND OF COMMITMENT AM I MAKING?

When you present your child to God in the form of a child dedication, you are publicly recognizing that your child belongs to Him and that you will raise the child in a home committed to experiencing and loving Christ. Deuteronomy 6 instructs us:

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates.”
- Deuteronomy 6:5-9 NIV

As Christian parents, you are committing to teaching your child the truth found in God’s Word. You are also committing to be a Christ-like example and to lead your child to a personal relationship with Christ.

ARE THERE ANY REQUIREMENTS?

Based on God’s divinely-inspired Word, as found in the Bible, we invite Christian parents who are married (man and woman) to present their natural or adopted child to the Lord as a couple. Due to the commitment being made in a child dedication, unmarried couples are unable to participate. If you would like personal guidance with this, please contact Pastor Wade Smith.

WHAT IF I AM NOT MARRIED?

Single parents are welcome to present their child to the Lord individually, provided they are committed to doing their best to raise their child to be a follower of Christ.

WHO IS INVITED TO THE PLATFORM?

To make the dedication sentimental to each family, we invite the child’s parents to join him or her on the stage during this event.

Before the Worship Experience, we invite your family to meet with a pastor to discuss the dedication. You will receive additional information the week before the dedication. You will receive a certificate of dedication in the mail following the dedication, as well as a video link to the ceremony.

If you have reviewed the Pledge and would like to have your child dedicated, please complete the following form.
