Baptism

What is baptism?

After Salvation, the next step of your journey is Baptism.  Baptism is an outward expression of the inward change that has happened in your life.  Water baptism symbolizes the believer’s total trust in, and total reliance on, the Lord Jesus Christ, as well as a commitment to live obediently to Him.  We baptize because Jesus commanded his disciples to do so in Matthew 28:18-19.

Here at Victory we believe in Baptism by immersion.  We believe this method best represent what was shown in Jesus’s Baptism from Matthew 3:13-17.

When you are immersed in the water, it represents participation in the death of Jesus.  The old you is no longer there.  When you are brought out the water, it represents resurrection and new life!  You are no longer the same person.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” - 2 Corinthians 5:17
