When was the last time you remember being on your spiritual mountaintop? Do you remember what it felt like to have that sense of joy and fulfillment? It’s an unfortunate truth, but the reality is that we don’t always stay there. We won’t always remain in a season of having a spiritual “high.”
The church in Galatia had a handful of issues. But its primary issue was one of comparison. Believers would start comparing their journeys of faith with each other. President Teddy Roosevelt said, “Comparison is the thief of joy.” If we aren’t careful, we begin to compare our lives and the season we are in to the people around us. You may not realize that what you are thinking is actually comparing, because you might see it as a challenge. You may feel the urge to compete and challenge yourself to be in the same season as the people around you, or with those who may seem to be ahead of you in their spiritual journey.
Your season is not by accident; because of the fullness and perfection of God’s timing, He has you exactly where He wants you. And in the fullness of time, like He sent His Son as provision, He will send you provision in your season.
Read Galatians 4:4-7 and Philippians 4:6-7. Maybe take a walk or sit outside where you can take a couple of minutes and reflect, in your own life, where God has shown that His timing is perfect in every season.
