Make Room for an Attitude of Gratitude

As parents, when we were raising our children, there were two things that were non-negotiable: being polite and being grateful. It’s heartwarming to a parent when their children are like that; but when they are not, well . . . it doesn’t make the parent happy.

Today’s Scripture

"(10) When the Lord your God brings you into the land he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you--a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build, (11) houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant--then when you eat and are satisfied, (12) be careful that you do not forget the Lord, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery." - Deuteronomy 6:10-12 (NIV)

Tip from Rich

Moses did not want the people to forget who had supplied not only their deliverance out of slavery, but he wanted them to remember and be grateful for having been given land, a place to live, food, and water – all things that “someone else” had provided.
