If you are anything like me, life probably seems totally out of control way too often. The pace of this modern culture can be overwhelming. We have 24-hour-a-day news, Google, television, Netflix, YouTube, and social media. Family activities like soccer, cheer, karate, tutoring, and many other events fill our days. Add in all of our regular obligations like, work, cooking, cleaning the bathroom, and keeping the laundry in some kind of manageable state, and there’s little wonder why we might feel like we don’t have time for anything that truly matters. What if we took time out, as we start this year, to flip our old plan totally around? God has so much more for our lives, but it is going to take some work on our part. Let’s make 2017 the year where we learn to prioritize our schedule . . . rather than scheduling our priorities. Our makeover has to start with putting God at the top of our list, and working our way down from there.
Today’s Scripture
“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all of your heart. I will be found by you, and I will bring you back from captivity.” - Jeremiah 29:13-14a (NIV)

Tip from Sam
Read through Matthew 3:25-34. When we decide to follow God with all we have, He will help us figure out the other areas of importance in our lives. He assures us that when we stay close to Him, we don’t have to worry about what we are missing out on.
Study Suggestions
When you prioritize your schedule, make appointments with yourself to work on these items. It is a long-term strategy, and you may not get everything done right away. Don’t worry about that. Just block out time to work on your goals. Start by creating an appointment to spend time with the Lord daily. Ask Him to help you put everything else in order.
