THIS WEEK’S FOCUSED SCRIPTURE
Rom 11:22-24; Rom. 12; Rom. 13, Rom. 14; Rom. 15; Rom. 16.
Romans 11:22-24 (NIV) - 22 Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off. 23 And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. 24 After all, if you were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature, and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!
THOUGHTS FROM MOISES
What you just read hit my understanding in a hard way long ago (Romans 11:22-24). God forgives people that we could selfishly claim do not deserve forgiveness! However, God is like that. He is not asking us what we think. He is indicating to us that His mercy surpasses what bothers us, what frustrates us, what has hurt us, what we do not want to forgive! It seems impossible to do so, but if God did it with us, so can we toward others (Matthew 18:21-22).
It can cause bewilderment for others to hear you speak this way, because it is not consistent with your circumstances or the consequences of the things you have gone through. However, I can tell you with certainty that by understanding it and doing it in obedience, you will arrive and enter the next phase of your life.
I want to share that seven months before starting Victory Iglesia in 2006, under Victory Church’s covering, God showed me that I had to forgive, seek, and reconcile with someone... yes, I said forgive, seek, and reconcile. What happened? What benefit did I get from it? God made me understand that it was necessary before beginning that new stage of my life.
The desire of God is that we all proceed to repentance, not only from our sins, but from our grudges, from our resentments, from our pride, from our quarrels, from our hatred, from what we drag around, and what makes us slow down in our walk.
It has probably crossed your mind to say, “Well, everyone does it,” but no, that is not the mentality of God. Romans 12:2a (NIV) says, "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” We will usually say, “I don’t feel like doing it,” which is something contrasting and absurd! To justify ourselves we say “everyone,” and to refuse to make a difference we say, “I don’t feel like it!”
Loving others should not be done selectively! Romans 12:9-10 (NIV) Forgive without making a list of excuses! Do not compare yourself to others; on the contrary, learn to see them as you see yourself! Romans 12:3 (NIV) If you are a father or mother, you can see it more easily... it hurts you to see your children fighting, comparing themselves to each other, humiliating each other, and even more, when we see that a long time goes by without them speaking or forgiving each other.
I invite you to begin to forgive, to seek, and to reconcile... with the heart of the Father. This is the heart of God... as absurd as it may seem.
