WALKING IN GOD’S HEALING PRESENCE
WHAT MOUNTAINS ARE YOU FACING? Do you need a physical healing, an emotional breakthrough, or a renewal of your mind? What mountain might you face in the future? In Mark 9, Jesus instructs us to not only fast for our current circumstances, but to also fast so that we may store up a kind of “spiritual bank account” that we can withdrawal from when life’s unexpected moments arise. In times of great need and confusion, when it seems like there are more questions than answers, we can find rest knowing that Jesus paid for our healing. Prayer and fasting helps us to build our faith for those tough situations; the ones in which we have more unbelief than we do faith. Whatever mountain you are facing today, you can find peace in God’s healing presence.
SCRIPTURES
“Jesus said to him, ‘If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.’ Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, ‘Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!’ When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it: ‘Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!” Then the spirit cried out, convulsed him greatly, and came out of him. And he became as one dead, so that many said, “He is dead.’ But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose. And when He had come into the house, His disciples asked Him privately, ‘Why could we not cast it out?’ So He said to them, ‘This kind [of unbelief] can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.’” — Mark 9:23-29
“That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: ‘He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.’” — Matthew 8:17
“Then He appointed twelve, that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach, and to have power to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons.” — Mark 3:14,15
PRAYER
Father,
Hallowed be Your name. Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on this earth today as it is in heaven.
I am encouraged today through this devotion, that You are healer. That in You, we find rest in times of confusion and great need. Thank you Father, that You never leave me nor forsake me. I choose to anchor into Your promise of peace and healing.
Continue to strengthen us today during this time of prayer and fasting. We can do all things through our Lord, Jesus Christ, who strengthens us.
Thank you Father. In the name of Jesus…Amen.
